以前にご紹介した香港SOGOの外壁パネル改修工事は、香港のこれからの改修市場に新たな可能性を創出する画期的な新システムですが、早速この物件への反響が出始めています。残念ながらこの場で色々なお客様からの引き合いをご紹介するわけには参りませんが、既にSOGOシステムで改修工事を終えた物件をご覧頂きます。

キャメロン・プラザは香港で銅鑼湾に並ぶ商業/観光の中心地である尖沙嘴チム・シャ・チュイの目抜き通りにある商業ビルですが、老朽化が進む中でパネル仕上げの外観をどうやってリフレッシュするかがオーナーの長い間の懸案でした。そこに、同じような古い商業ビルである香港SOGOの再生のニュースを聞きつけ、我々のところにご相談があったという次第です。

実際にこの物件はパネルの老朽化が激しく、またシーリングや防水など塗料だけでは解決できない問題も多かったのですが、国際本部の技術とも連携の上、考え得る最上の仕様をご提案し、旧正月前に無事に完工に至りました。オーナーから感謝のお言葉を頂戴したことは言うまでもありませんが、こんどはそれを観た他のオーナーからお問い合わせを頂戴するという嬉しい連鎖にまで発展しております。

ただ注意しなければならないのは、経済の大原則であるイノベーターの後にイミテーターが雲霞のごとく発生し、せっかく新しく開いた市場を混乱させてしまうことです。現在お話を頂戴している物件をご紹介できないのも、そうすると他の物まねサプライヤーの目を引き、彼らが直ぐにインチキ代替品と安売り攻勢で市場に参入しようと試み、畢竟マーケットそのものを潰してしまう可能性すらあるからです。特に我々純正日本のメーカーは常にローカル化したサプライヤーの模倣のお手本とされているため、それを防ぐための苦労も一入です。

The renovation work of the external aluminum panels of Hong Kong SOGO introduced earlier is a revolutionary system which creates new possibilities in the Hong Kong construction market in the future. Right as SOGO came to light as our representative model, we have received tremendous amount of positive responses. Unfortunately, the details of our upcoming projects cannot be disclosed and shared here as of yet. Though for now, we can look into another case of panel refurbishment, which we have completed recently – Cameron Plaza.

Cameron Plaza, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, is a vertical Ginza-style retail building which offers high-end shopping and dining experiences in this tourist-oriented district, much similar to Causeway Bay in Hong Kong Island. For districts which are so packed with commercial and tourism activities, it would be a big hassle for major renovation to take place, considering the lengthy time and exorbitant cost. However, face lifting is deemed necessary for building owners to restyle old buildings in hopes of drawing customers in.

Impressed by our precedent at Hong Kong Sogo, our client asked us to introduce the same system for their panels refurbishment project at Cameron Plaza.

There were plenty of challenges we had to face, which we were not afraid to be engaged in. For instance, we had to deal with the issue of water-proofing, non-bleeding sealant, and a tight working schedule. In collaboration with the technical department of the international headquarter, we devised the best possible specifications. The renovation was completed smoothly and successfully before Chinese Lunar new year. We were able to fulfill our client's targeted goal of high quality works done in a set time frame as to minimize any inconveniences caused to their valued customers and retail tenants. Our client is definitely happy with the results, for they have already shown interests in employing similar coating systems in their other properties alike. Not only that, other owners of properties nearby have also approached us for our technical advice and information. This is indeed a pleasant surprise for us!

Now what we have to care is not to let imitators copy our innovative system, since imitators may enjoy easy fruit after innovator has created it. It may confuse our new market and eventually spoil the whole chance of this system. Localized suppliers are superior to follow and pick up our results.
