Pig Carving Ceremony at Joyful Villas

Pig carving ceremony is a region exclusive tradition to celebrate the commencement of a construction project in Hong Kong. Meat, fruits, wine and incenses were offered at the altar as means to earnestly ask for work safety and smooth operation during construction period. Although for Japanese, this ceremony may have a rather exotic impression, everyone was sincere about the ritual. As the renovation begins at Joyful Villas, a large scale project located in Kwun Tong at the size of approximately 70,000
m2, a pig carving ceremony was prepared. All parties including Kansai Paint, the nominated paint supplier, gathered at the event.

This 3-block apartment, having situated in Kwun Tong for over four decades of time, became a geopolitically significant landmark project in the Hong Kong market. The pig carving ceremony attracted media attention. Kansai Paint was one of the parties to be interviewed by a TV station for being an authentic and advanced paint supplier from Japan.
